Witty Perry

I guess that by looking at the title, you probably have a clue already on what the subject matter for today is all about.

Last Sunday Night I have:
  • Screamed until my throat ached
  • Danced until I dropped
  • Laughed like a retard
  • Jumped as if I were flying into space
  • Had the night of my life!
After my last Sunday, it will be a tough competition for future concerts to beat Katy Perry's (or shall I say, Witty Perry?)

I loved her performance on Sunday (26.09.11) for many different reasons. However, I feel like I'm going to write a long, tiring essay here and I know all of you want to cut to the chase and see the pictures I took from the show so here are my reasons short and sweet :)

  1. The fact that she has done the complete stage set up really pleased me since it is very rare that artists do that for concerts here in Brazil. Most of the time when artists go on tour (in the States in particular), they mount a huge set up with incredible special effects, an eye-popping scenery and many other fantastic elements that makes a show remarkable. However, when they travel overseas, they don't tend to bring this stage set up since it costs a lot of money and because depending on how "grand" the stage is, it can be hard to ship it abroad and be able to dismount it in time for the next concert.
  2. I loved the scenery for the show, it reminded me of the board game "Candy Land" since there was a lot of color and also a LOT of glitter as well and it made me feel as if I turned back into a kid and I was reliving my childhood!
  3. I also adored the fact that when Perry had to run backstage for a change of clothes, cute clips would appear on the the left and right billboards to entertain the crowd. From what I could see from the clips, they are all based on the story of Alice in Wonderland because, like in the book, there are a lot of "unusual" characters in Wonderland and the videos portray Katy walking through the pathways of "Candyfornia" encountering many different characters throughout her way.
  4. I guess this is the most important point out of the four, I loved Katy Perry's confident attitude, sweet loving sympathy, and witty sense of humor -- I guess she got that from Russell Brand ;)  Whilst on stage, she has kept the crowd amused by interacting  with them and bringing them up on stage, told a few jokes here and there, used glamorous costumes for each and every song she sang and has also proven to all of us that she knows what she is talking about when she says she wants to "bring the house DOWN"!

So as all of you may have skipped my incredibly long bullet points, here are a few pics that were taken last Sunday night (hopefully they won't leak online like Katy's!)

A Chunk of Mars

Hi guys! Sorry for the inconvenience, but I was suffering problems whilst attempting to log into blogger. But now that everything is sorted out, lets proceed as usual!
The song for today is dedicated to the warm hearted that have a weak point for mellow and romantic love songs. After his famous pop hits "Just the Way You Are", "Count On Me", "Grenade", "Billionaire", "Marry You" and "The Lazy Song", Bruno Mars has proved to the planet how he is so talented and is literally "out of this world".
I have been recently doing my music hunting and I've found out that he has launched yet ANOTHER hit that is sure to hit the top of billboard.com!
It is a song about love, and how you can't always tackle love that easily since most of the time, there will be an obstacle on your way and that will only push you harder and harder to fight against it. Although, at the end of the day, despite all of the problems that you may face with this certain issue, you know that you will never give up on love simply because you believe in it!
Like what you read? Let's see if you LOVE what you're about to listen to:

Enjoooooy :)

P.S: "It Will Rain" is also part of the upcoming motion picture soundtrack for the 4th Twilight Saga movie "Breaking Dawn Part 1". Despite the fact that for now the album has no release date announced, I'll let all of you up to date on the new soundtrack with all the juicy info you guys seek :P!

Room For Battle Studies

As you can tell by now, my genre choices are very variated from Rock and Roll to Electro Pop.
However, those are genres that come and go --- not counting the exceptions of course! --- but I won't ever let go of the peaceful, tranquil sound of the king of kings: John Mayer.
Voice of an angel, songs about life, genius album titles, each song is a brand new beat. Then you keep wondering why he has won SEVEN Grammys.
The truth is no matter what time of day, no matter what year we're at be it 2011 or 3007, JM for me will always be the sound of heaven. It is the kind of music I can hear when I'm angry, in love, heartbroken, or that simply relaxes my mind. In other words, John Mayer ALWAYS puts a smile on my face (:D) and my dream shall be the day he comes to Brazil and I'll finally get to see one of my favorite artists preform live on stage!

Since it is hard to pick my favorite song, here is a selection of the songs that I like the most by him:

1) Why Georgia

2) Love Song For No One

3) Split Screen Sadness

4) Neon

5) Comfortable

6) Heartbreak Warfare

7) Your Body Is a Wonderland

8) Who Says

9) Vultures

10) Say

11) Stop This Train

12) Route 66 (Nat King Cole Cover)

13) No Such Thing

14) New Deep

15) My Stupid Mouth

16) Love Soon

17) I'm Gonna Find Another You

18) Gravity

19 Daughters

20) Dreaming With a Broken Heart

21) Bigger Than My Body

22) Clarity

23) Waiting on the World to Change

24) Back To You

25) Bold As Love (Jimi Hendrix Cover)

26) Heart of Life

27) Half of My Heart (Feat. Taylor Swift)

This is almost like food for thought!

Hopefully, you guys might start to like John Mayer as much as I do and that you guys keep accessing the blog for more updates on music!

Have a great Sunday :)
