This Love Gives Me Misery On A Sunday Morning With The Moves Like Jagger

After SO many artists mentioned in this blog, I'm FINALLY getting the opportunity of making a post on one of my favorite bands of all time: Maroon 5!
Why my favorite? The music itself has an element of sweetness making their songs unique and different from what any other pop rock band around the corner. The songs are all based on stories that connote thoughts and events to the listener making anyone relate to them be it through experience, memories, or any other form of communication for that matter.
Not to mention, all the songs either give me:

  1. Peace of mind --- Never have I ever felt THIS relaxed (well, and metaphorically "possessed") by hearing such a hunky young fellow like Adam Levine enchant me with winsome words and delightful feelings.
  2. A reason to dance around my room for no goddamn cause --- Come on! I know we ALL "put our freak on" whenever Moves Like Jagger starts to play no matter the time, no matter who we are with or where we are!
So here is a playlist with all my favorite songs by Maroon 5 (which no doubt, all of you have heard about every single song :P) and if you haven't heard some of these, take the opportunity I'm giving out and listen to them RIGHT NOW!

1) Moves Like Jagger

2) This Love

3) She Will Be Loved

4) Makes Me Wonder

5) If I Never See Your Face Again

6) Never Gonna Leave This Bed

7) Sunday Morning

8) Misery

9) Give A Little More

10) Out Of Goodbyes

Just one final question (which I WON'T take NO as an answer): Will you marry me Adam? *puppy face*

Fierce Thoughts

Every friday comes a new movie and just two days ago (25.11.11), Happy Feet Two came out here in Brazil.
In my honest opinion, I'm not a fan of the movie since I found the first one pretty boring but I can't judge anything about the second movie since I haven't seen it yet on theaters (and not really looking forward on watching it to).
Actually, the only thing that I'm looking forward in this movie (okay, I admit, I also think the penguins are ABNORMALLY cute too) is this one particular song where P!nk steals the spotlight revealing once again her flair for music that without any doubt will leave the public in the movie theater with their mouths wide open!
Passionate, deep and beautiful. The song Bridge of Life talks about hope and positive expectations that will certainly bring optimism to anyone feeling down. It brings me inspiration and fulfills my ears with glory and happiness and hopefully all of you will love it as much as I did!

Is it just me or am I smelling a Grammy? Either way, it is very delighting! Tell me what you think down on the comments :P

Dev O'Lution

Remember that awkward moment this week where you typed the address for this blog and no updates came about? Yup, now I'm about to refurbish everybody's mind on stuff they have missed from Wednesday till today so here we go!
Ever felt like partying for no specific reason? So take note of this track for your wondrous playlist: "Lightspeed" by DEV.
The song is pretty mellow at start that combines perfectly well with DEV's amazing rapping but still not the kind of tune you would shuffle to. That is until you reach chorus where the perfect dub step is mixed with her fantastic rapping!

Go on! Take a listen!

Unique and spicy, this will DEFINITELY become a radio hit on the top 15 playlists!

The Dynamic Duo!

Hey guys! Sorry if the posts are coming in pretty late! I've been VERY busy working on my school play version of Alice In Wonderland (which starts tomorrow!) And A LOT of thoughts has been crossing through my mind lately and also a high level of stress, nervousness and hunger as well so please, (take a note of this) the Queen of Hearts DIDN'T sentence my head to be chopped off (YET) so keep calm because (impressively,) I'm STILL alive!
Anyways, since I didn't have any homework (an exclusive privilege for actors participating in the school play -- hehe!) I ran to the iTunes Top 100 Songs ASAP for two reasons: Entertainment for my ears and (as a bonus,) the benefit for YOUR ears!
I'll be pretty honest with all of you, Drake (excluding a few songs) isn't my favorite artist on my iTunes. However, when I heard his brand new song "Take Care" featuring one of my favorite female artists Rihanna, it has become officially my daily alarm clock song!
What I most like about the song is not necessarily the message, but its rhythm which is slow but upbeat -- perfect to dance through your room! -- and the chemistry between Rihanna and Drake -- the slow, melodic verses she sings gives contrast to Drake's compact, intense rapping.
A year ago, the two sensations ROCKED on Rihanna's hit song "What's My Name?" and to no one's surprise, this second song will sure ROCK the top favorites of HOT.FM or whatever you kids listen to these days!

Time is precious, watch this NOW!

Aren't they the sweetest? I don't understand why they are NOT dating! They have such a perfect connection with each other,  it almost makes no sense at all! Who agrees? Leave a comment!

Cause Like, Fridays Are TOO Mainstream!

Latest Pop Divas in the UK! (Left to Right: Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White and Mollie King)

What if The Spice Girls and The Pussycat Dolls ever met? Certainly, that is a very curious question since I'm pretty sure that literally happened and as a result: The Saturdays was created!
But who the hell are "The Saturdays"? (Crap. Now you know I'm psychic :S) Anyhow, The Saturdays is a British and Irish pop, R&B and electropop girl group that consists of five members: Mollie King, Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White.
It all started actually in 2007 when the band was formed through Fascination Records and later launched their first debut single "If This Is Love" that quickly reached the top 10 hits in the UK!
Now, why haven't you EVER heard of The Saturdays? Actually, this question should be re-phrased because, (spoiler alert) it was said that in this year, the pop group plans to crack the American music industry by starring in their own TV show on American cable network E!, in 2012 and are also set to sign an American record label in late 2011!
So, if you are reading this and if you ever hear about this group next year in the US being referred as "the latest teen sensation", you'll know where you heard it FIRST before anyone else!
Oh, one more thing, you are actually just in luck since today (21.11.11) is the day that their brand new album: "On Your Radar" launches and it's filled with songs that will definitely make your party on Saturday bring the house down and let your iTunes stuck on repeat!

Come on! Take a listen!

2) My Heart Takes Over (Digital Dog Remix)

3) All Fired Up

4) My Heart Takes Over (Original Version)

Bedazzling Grandeur

Out of all the music videos I've seen in my life, this one is by far one of my favorites!
Selena Gomez looks spotless in every shot of this video and can cheer up anyone for that matter. After watching this spectacular video, I felt indulged in euphoria and full of life I truly loved everything there is to love about this video.
The song "Hit The Lights" basically talks about leaving your comfort zone and just letting the good times roll, have fun, and not regret them later which I think is a very important message for everyone because if you don't get out of your comfort zone, you will never know what the world has to offer and what new adventures you might make, who you shall meet or where you might end up.
The video itself reminds me of summer vacations -- the time of freedom in a teenager's life where there are no boundaries, no limits, where you can let yourself free and not be told what's right and what's wrong.

Can't hold it any longer? Check out the video clip right now!

What do you think? Love it or leave it? I love it!

And You Thought They Were Just Fairytales

The music feed has been quite low recently so I'm sorry if I'm procrastinating right here and not giving you guys many recent updates on new songs and new albums for that matter but next week, so I've heard, there will be plenty of new updates.
Moving on, I have a huge secret to confess: I don't watch television since February 2011 (everything for the Oscars - hehe!) and I'm not a fan of neither Reality Shows nor Teen Drama Series. Mostly, I only watch comedies such as Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and many others. However, recently I have found out about a brand new TV series that got me very interested called "Grimm". The plot? It's a modern day version of The Brothers Grimm stories with a dark, sinister touch to it.
Nick and Hank (the two main characters that portray the role of the brothers), are two cops who work together solving mysterious cases in the town of Portland, Oregon. Now here's the catch: Nick is a descendant of "The Grimms" -- a hunting group whom's mission is keeping humanity safe from supernatural creatures in the world. Only Nick has the power to see through people and know their real, gruesome identity.
What I like about this series mostly is that it teaches people a lesson (unlike what you see on Gossip Girl for example) which is: Don't judge a book by its cover. Would you ever imagine that an innocent, tender old man could turn out to be a nasty, blood-curdling werewolf? Unpredictable and surprising, the two words that perfectly describe this show!
Not only does Grimm teach us a lesson in life, but also one of the particular reasons why I like it so much is that its a show that puts me on the edge of my seat  (which is a feeling I personally LOVE feeling) and also because I have always been a fan of the dark side of fairy tales. For instance, whenever I watch a movie that is fairy tale based, this thought always creeps up in my mind: "What would of been of the ending if the good didn't win?"
Although I LOVE talking to all of you about irrelevant topics, what I wanted to say all along was that at the start of the pilot, this song all of you probably know already (since it's THAT freaking old) "Sweet Dreams" started to play and it combined so perfectly well with the scene that it got me shivers and literally made me scream with terror.

Feeling pretty grimm lately? Check out this stunning promo!

Not to mention, actor David Giuntoli (plays Nick) is quite a catch I must say!

Shake Up The Town!

I know I don't usually do these kind of posts but this is a VERY special occasion and it also has to do with the blog since it is music related.
For those who know me personally are VERY aware that I have an OBSESSION over musicals. I love the songs, the dancing, the plots, the costumes -- In other words, basically every single detail that puts up a massive production like the one a musical offers -- I LOVE IT! (Word of advice: Don't leave me alone in New York for a month because I'll spend more money on front row seats for every single musical available (yes, even for Spiderman) than I will spend doing a shopping spree on 5th Avenue!)
So, if you haven't guessed on what I will be talking about today, all I can tell is that you have major issues with reading comprehension. However, that is a problem for your english teacher to solve so moving on: I do have a list of many musicals that I love more than anything in this world such as Grease, Chicago, Wicked, Moulin Rouge, Burlesque, Fame, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Legally Blonde The Musical within others.
In spite of those listed above, today I will be talking about one in particular that is, in my opinion, one of my favorites out of the bunch which is Footloose.
I love everything there is to love about Footloose: the music, the dancing, the story, the humor and the connection between the characters all end up joint so perfectly together that they equal an amazing musical full of love, passion and energy and most importantly: having the crowd leave the theater with a huge, wide open jaw dangling from their mouth at the end of the day.
Whoever is reading this who understands my compassionate love for musical theater and also lives in Rio will be interested on what I will suggest. Don't have much to do this week? Come and watch The British School of Rio's production of Footloose live on stage from Thursday (yes, it is today and I know I have a bad timing but this goes without saying) to Saturday (19.11.11) at 8 o'clock! I haven't seen it yet and I unfortunately won't be able to attend but please do go check it out! It is definitely an unmissable performance with fantastic acting, killer moves, outstanding singers and what is more impressive out of all the reasons I have stated for you to watch this play? Hardworking kids from ages 13 to 18 busted their chops off so that this production makes history. Kids who have put major effort on every single part of this production to make it be a huge success. So, if you could all do this for me -- a person that won't be able to see it live, -- take the opportunity and see it on my behalf! You don't know how important this is and how you won't regret my suggestion. If you were never a fan of theater, think of this as a brand new experience opening your mind to new ideas and new thoughts that might change you for the better (because I'd NEVER recommend something for you guys to change for the worse ;)
So, whomever is interested on getting tickets, please read over the Event Page on Facebook that includes all details about the performance!

To finalize this massive post, why not listen to my favorite tracks from the musical right here, right now?
